Today, most of the traffic is for people with trains tracted by BB26000.
For fret, a few years ago, a great proportion came from Cherbourg harbour especially with a few toyota car trains by week . Today, the load raised a lot.
A regular traffic exist for COGEMA at Valognes. Indeed, this is the way of transit for all the nuclear wastes destinated to “la Hague” retreatment plant .
Version 2
The V2 Line goes from Cherbourg to Lison and is 75km long.
Lison is the first station after Cherbourg with an elaborated railway map. Lison is also the branching station for the line to Saint Lô.
The new signals are normaly the same as the real ones and have the same running.
The real line
The Paris - Caen - Cherbourg route is 370km long. It was modified a lot in 1995. First, some curves were modified to increase speed up to 200km/h on some parts. The signals were updated, new signalboxes were build and the route was electrified, so the RTG (turbines trains) were wasted.
